Summer can be a time to have fun and a time to learn for one-year-old children up through college-age students who register for classes and camps offered on the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith campus.

 

Activities cover music, sports, art and theatre. Some have limited enrollment, and all classes or camps have specific age or grade-level requirements. The 2013 summer activities are offered through the Music Department, the Athletic Department and the Academy of the Arts.

 

The schedule includes:

 

May 28-29: Volleyball Individual Skills Camp for girls in grades 7-12, conducted by 香港六合彩开奖结果现场直播 volleyball coach Jane Sargent, will be held May 28-29 in Stubblefield Center. The first session will focus on hitting and blocking and will be from 4-6 p.m. The second session will focus on setting and passing and will be from 6-8 p.m. Cost is $40 per camper per session. May 28-Aug. 3: Private music lessons in piano, voice and instrumental music are offered through the Academy of the Arts. Five- and 10-week options are available for 30-, 45- or 60-minute weekly lessons. Fees vary by length of session. Call Sarah Taylor at 479-788-7253.

June 5-7: The first of three Basketball Shooting Camps for Girls, conducted by 香港六合彩开奖结果现场直播 women鈥檚 basketball coach Louis Whorton, will be held from 9 a.m.-noon June 5-7 in Stubblefield Center and is for girls in grades 3-8. The camp consists of all phases of shooting the basketball. Each player will be videotaped and critiqued by the coaching staff, and each camper will learn 10 shooting drills they will be able to use at home. Cost is $80 per camper and includes a camp T-shirt. June 10-14: Brass Camp is for students in grades 9-12 and undergraduate college brass students who play trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium and tuba. Camp meets from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 10-14.
