Strategic Communications

Our team of communications experts, specializing in print, broadcast and social media publication, is dedicated to enhancing the university's reputation and fostering connections across our diverse community.

Who we are

Director of Communications
Oversees strategic direction of the department and manages university public relations and central and executive communications. She also manages the institutional social media accounts with a team of student employees and helps departments across the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥ campus communicate effectively.

Advancement Editor
Oversees the university magazine "The Bell Tower," sharing riveting, in-depth features and compelling institutional news with a state-wide audience. She also manages many of the institution’s advancement publications and communications, supporting development officers working to grow the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥ Foundation.

Communications Specialist
Cultivates and shares the stories of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥. From students and alums to faculty and staff and campus events, he is sure to be there to bring the story to the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥ community. He also manages the institution's weekly and monthly internal communications to students, faculty, and staff.

Media Relations

Serving as the primary contact for media interactions, we handle all press inquiries and engagements with university administration, faculty, staff, and students. Our works diligently to provide timely and transparent communication to our media partners. We respect and appreciate the mission of local journalists and their importance in telling our story.

Our stories not only inform but also inspire, engage, and connect with diverse audiences, illustrating the university's role as a beacon of education, innovation, and community engagement.

Social Media Content & Strategy
Our digital team expertly manages Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥'s primary social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Beyond content creation and audience engagement, we offer consulting services to all university departments operating social media accounts. This ensures a unified, effective social media presence that aligns with Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥'s branding and communication goals.

Publications
We craft a variety of print publications, including our flagship magazine, The Bell Tower. Our print work aims to showcase the inspiring work of our faculty, students, and alumni, and share the impact of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥ with our broader community. 

Internal Communications
Our personalized newsletters keep the university community connected and informed about the latest news, achievements, and events, fostering a sense of belonging and pride among all associated with Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥.

As a state institution, the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥ – Fort Smith complies with the , which gives Arkansans access to governmental public records and public meetings, with limited exceptions.
