"Tarot" by Mikayla M. Moore

I wake up and try to find

the glass my alter life floats in

Flying through the items of my room

I find only pieces

My heart chipped in photos

self-worth in stained mirrors

My empathy in the tune of speakers—

Low whispers giving me advice

I’m so reluctant to take

I blink slow, look again—

build with these pieces,

walls form each quarter of my heart

And this roof, built from my worth—

Trying to be sturdy

Listen to the tune of my emotion—

Give me a reading, gypsy lady
